چکیده
Aging is a process that presents various alterations in physiological, behavioral and neurochemical processes. It causes impairment of CNS functions which lead to changes memory, cognition other performances. Reports have shown aging physiological functions. The aim the present study was evaluate cognitive relation aging. For this 20 male rats were taken, 10 young (4-6 months) old (18-22 months). Morris Water Maze (MWM) test performed monitor learning memory while Object-Recognition Task (ORT) function. After assessment decapitation done rat brain dissected isolate striatum. Then analysis by HPLC-EC striatal DA DOPAC levels. Results tests showed aged exhibited significant long-term memory. While ability assessed ORT also impaired rats. Neurochemical results there decline dopamine (DA) concentration its metabolite significantly increased Hence has negative influence on Age-related deficits may occur as result levels striatum leading performance.

متن کاملAge-Related Decrease in Male Extra-Striatal Adenosine A1 Receptors Measured Using 11C-MPDX PET
Adenosine A1 receptors (A1Rs) are widely distributed throughout the entire human brain, while adenosine A2A receptors (A2ARs) are present in dopamine-rich areas of the brain, such as the basal ganglia. A past study using autoradiography reported a reduced binding ability of A1R in the striatum of old rats. We developed positron emission tomography (PET) ligands for mapping the adenosine recepto...
متن کاملCognitive Rehabilitation An Effective Intervention to Decrease the Cognitive Deficits in Older Adults With Alzheimer Disease
Objectives: The aim of present study was to investigate the effect of cognitive rehabilitation, a new and non-pharmacological approach to reduce memory and other cognitive deficits in Alzheimer's disease. Methods & Materials: This study was a quasi-experimental research, in singlesubject study-with control group- and based on an A-B design. That was conducted in two groups of control and exp...
متن کاملImpulsivity in youth predicts early age-related cognitive deficits in rats.
Impulsivity is a feature of psychiatric disorders such as mania, addictive behaviors or attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which has recently been related to complaints of forgetfulness in adults. We investigated whether impulsiveness exerts a long-term influence on cognitive function in rats in a longitudinal study. Impulsivity, assessed by the ability to complete a sequence of p...
متن کاملNaringin ameliorates cognitive deficits in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats
Objective(s):Previous research demonstrated that diabetes is one of the leading causes of learning and memory deficits. Naringin, a bioflavonoid isolated from grapefruits and oranges, has potent protective effects on streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. Recently, the effects of naringin on learning and memory performances were monitored in many animal models of cognitive impairment. Howev...
